I was born and raised in a small town in Franklin, OH. I have wonderful parents and was blessed with an amazing older sister, who was and still is my very best friend. As a young girl, my days were spent by going to school, playing a variety of sports, taking part in extracurricular activities, going to church and daydreaming of my future. I loved to play basketball in the summer competitively, but in the back of my mind I knew I didn’t want to play in college. I had an unexplainable passion to become a supermodel.

At a very young age, I was drawn to the make-up commercials that I saw on TV and imagined myself being the girl featured in them. I would flip through magazines and imagine myself on the glossy pages. I didn’t really believe that this dream of mine would ever come true, but I knew that if I never pursued it, I would never know for sure. I didn’t want to live with that regret, so I decided to give it my best shot and see what happened.

I entered a Seventeen Magazine contest when I was a senior in high school. To my surprise, I won! They paid for me to fly to New York, and I had a shoot that was featured in a two page spread in their magazine. This experience ignited my desire to become a model even more.

Little did I know that this was just the beginning of modeling for me. My world changed drastically when I entered to be on the first season of America’s Next Top Model. I was enrolled in college at that time and had plans to get a four year degree. It took just a phone call from Tyra Banks to change my mind!

Even though I desperately wanted to win America’s Next Top Model, it wasn’t worth selling my soul for, or lowering my standards. I refused to pose nude for one of the photo shoots, but still managed to place as the runner-up. I was so happy with my decision. I remained true to who I was, even in the face of my dream potentially not becoming a reality.

After the show, I competed in the pageant world. I entered the Miss Ohio USA pageant in 2005 and placed runner-up. It was so hard to get so close to winning again, but not quite capturing “the title.” I entered the Miss Ohio pageant again the next year, and made it as a semi-finalist. But I knew that God had a plan for my life and that if I didn’t win, He must have other plans for me.

After my experiences in pageants, I have walked runways during New York fashion Week and Australian Fashion Week. I have had the opportunity to work for print clients such as Tresemme, Express, Jockey, Dillards, Speedo, Panasonic, Ford, Samsung, T-Mobile, Carson’s, Sephora, Teen Vogue, Elle Girl, Allure, and many more. I have also been a guest on the Tyra Banks Show several times, and have modeled on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

I’m currently featured on America’s Next Top Model: All Stars, and I’m living and working in LA in pursuit of my modeling dream.

The Lord definitely brought my childhood hopes to life! I never would have thought that I would get to travel the world, and see this dream really happen, but I serve the God of the Impossible, and He has taken my “if-onlys” and turned them into reality.

He not only was God of the impossible for me in modeling, but also in choosing who would complement me, and who would be the perfect match for me. The Lord brought me a man that captured my heart, and a love I thought only existed in fairy tales.

Matt proposed to me on a mountain-top in Colorado, which not only shocked me, but also took my breath away. We both saved ourselves until marriage, which sadly doesn’t happen often these days. We got married in November 2007.

I can not thank the Lord enough for bringing “the desires of my heart” to pass. I not only have a soul mate, but a best friend for life!
